Union of Radio and Television Journalists

The Union of Finnish Radio and TV Journalists (RTTL) is a trade union for program workers in radio, TV and program and production companies, as well as teachers in the industry and communication professionals. The union has some 4,000 members.
RTTL aims to respond to various challenges regarding short-time work, commercial content production and subcontracting, unclear boundaries for content and ownership, as well as copyright.

RTTL members got to know Yle Turku's new premises in Logomo during their seminar trip.
Members also have access to events at the Helsinki International Press Club. They have also attended the HJK – Inter game and visited the HKJ players' facilities with the guidance of Markku "Peltsi" Peltoniemi.

RTTL committees and working groups 2025-2026

The working committee prepares board meetings. The working committee includes the presidium and the RTTL and YOT’s operational directors.

The finance working group monitors the financial development and financing of the activities and makes proposals to the board if necessary.

The copyright committee monitors compliance with copyright and follows the discussion on copyright issues. Committee members participate in negotiations regarding copyright, for example in Kopiosto.

The information committee/editorial committee orders timely articles and columns for publication on the RTTL website and in the member newsletter, which comes out once a year.

The membership working group monitors and develops the membership recruitment and engagement.

The operations committee is responsible for planning and practical implementation of RTTL events.

The communications working group is responsible for strategic planning and RTTL’s communication.
